At Metro Connect 2021, Greg Elliott was honored to meet up with Jaymie Scott Cutaia, CEO of JSA to dish on the latest 1623 Farnam developments. The two had no shortage of topics to cover as there is a lot going on at 1623! Greg shared the latest on the $40M expansion which is making the facility a cutting edge data center with new cooling and power infrastructure. Greg continued, “along with nine floors, 8MW of capacity and it already has 50 carriers – that’s awesome  – coupled with the hyperscaler activity in the area, it’s a great spot to be in.”

As an interconnected ecosystem, Greg explained how our carrier neutral meet-me-room is the “heart and soul of the building.” Our team is focused on growing the ecosystem for our carriers, content providers, OTTs and enterprise customers. We aim to bring more flexibility and options to all.

In addition, our data center is home to Omaha IX, the most geographically-centered peering exchange in the U.S. During this interview during Metro Connect, Greg also shared some of the many exciting developments including the addition of a Megaport node with a unique redundant dual router/switch configuration, along with Telia Carrier that has turned up a new fiber route from Chicago through Omaha and on to Denver. A lot of growth is going on with more to follow!

Tune in to learn more about all of this, as well as the Augmented / Virtual Reality Challenge, the many low latency connectivity options and a very exciting carrier-neutral 5G lab-all available at 1623 Farnam.
